Credit where it's due...

This seems like it took a lot of work. Modeling like that and animating this whole thing definitely had to be rough. Kudos on accomplishing this in that regard, I'm sure a lot of work went into it. However, looking at it objectively, based not on production but instead focusing on the end product (as all media is generally reviewed) this seems overhyped to me.

First of all, while this would look dandy on a video site, the grainy resolution of the exported video looks pretty crappy when stacked up against the clear and vibrant colors of an animation that's purely flash. This also affects the animation in the sense that it feels slow a lot of the time, like they're kids making a fight movie so they're pulling their punches shortly before impact.

Also disappointing is the fact that with so many well known NG characters with so much potential the final battle focuses on gigantor and mindchamber. While I respect their artists and realize they've accomplished things in their own right, the characters themselves are lame choices for an epic final battle.

The "plot" is also pretty weak. Everyone is caged and forced to fight... Because. All so that Pico can rule the portal or something. First of all, this seems amazingly out of character for Pico, but ignoring that, who is considered to be ruling the portal in this flash? Pico's already as close as you can get to supreme master of the portal, unless you count Strawberry Clock, but there'd be no need to obliterate everyone just to take out SBC. And if you did, there'd be no one left to rule. Pico wouldn't be ruling the portal so much as emptying it so that he could live alone for all eternity, which again makes no sense.

Overall, this is very impressive for what it is, but it's kind of like starting a farm, home growing crops so that you can create noodles, slaughtering your own cow so you can get meat, harvesting so that you can make your own spices, and putting a so-so meal on the table when your kid asks for hamburger helper. Just cause you chose the hardest method doesn't make the gritty noodles and stringy meat taste any better.

Weird...

Apparently half the reviewers don't understand the concept of cutting or dying hair. For those of us that DO live in the 21st century where traditional Pico can change his hair to look like your Pico in about an hour, it's no big deal. It blatantly says in the author's comments that you changed Pico's appearance, but sadly people are too stupid to pick up on that.

I was pretty thoroughly grossed out by the parts of this flash that included shit, but other than that I thought this was very well done. Keep up the good work and don't let dumb reviews get you down.

Hmm...

The animating was alright, and the audio was good aside from the females who sounded like trannies. The humor was terrible though. The two cocks thing was about the dumbest thing I've ever seen Pico say in any flash (which, while we're on the topic of cocks, I think having a penis appear at the end of the flash isn't so much a "cock joke" just a chance for you to make an unnecessary drawing of a penis). Pico (along with most of the other "children") looks to be about 30. Having him be half the size of other people in the beginning was a nice attempt at making him look younger, but with the proportions you gave him in regards to his head and limbs and such, it just makes him look like an adult with the ability to shrink. Just keep at it, it's clear you have a lot of potential, I just don't think this flash hit the mark.

I appreciate your constructive criticism, this movie actually was rushed so I had to cut and cheat everywhere I could! :D

As for the lame jokes, if you look at my other work you'll see that I usually don't have themes like this. This movie was done for kicks, and I thought "hell, might as well give newgrounds what it wants (i.e. cock jokes)! :D

Just cause it's been done...

...Is never a reason to shy away from an idea. Bleach isn't the only "hero's greatest power can't be controlled" series. Avatar: The Last Airbender, Naruto, The Incredible Hulk, etc, all successful even though the idea had "been done". Fuck Bleach (that has nothing to do with this flash, just fuck Bleach forever). I hope you stick with this, I'd like to see what you accomplish, and like a person with a brain I'd like to judge based on how it actually turns out rather than just whether the idea's been done in some form or not. EVERYTHING has been done in some form.

Two things though. One, this trailer doesn't show a whole lot of frame-by-frame animation, it's mostly tweens and fades. I'm a sucker for fbf, so please include more of that in the first official episode. Also, I believe i can hear your lips separating and smacking together in the audio.... Or... I suppose your tongue losing suction against the roof of your mouth... Like someone chewing food with their mouth open. It's a little offputting.

...I think that sums it up really. Some of the art was good, but you were so inconsistent with your art style. Cool that you finished a whole animation though. Y'know, there's that. A lot of people aren't willing to put up that kind of effort but... Yay!

Awesome.

The other guy is wrong, the vibrant colors are great and work together flawlessly. I thought this was really good for what it was, though I wish it could have been longer and had a little more plot than a man pulling a catapult out of nowhere. I don't know if I would consider this "an addicting and enjoyable game" like Leadersy, but it's definitely a great flash.

I like the animation, you definitely have talent. You lose points for the fact that you just reanimated a simpsons scene, but since it was only for a project anyway and not something you're trying to pass off as totally original I'll let it slide this time. I am, after all, a benevolent voter.

This is bad, there's not much to it really. Normally I would go easy on you since this is your first flash and you're clearly like 7 or something, but the fact that you would actually tell people to vote higher BECAUSE it's your first flash is as annoying as a waitress tip already being factored into your bill. You didn't EARN a good score, you're just expecting people to owe it to you because you've never made a flash before. That's not how it works. Use the score as motivation, dude. You might not... Definitely won't top the charts with this flash, but you can learn, improve, and come back with something better. Don't go around begging for handouts, that just makes you look pathetic.

This is more like a gif or something. There are places for stuff like this on the web, but frankly this is more like an image than a flash. In the future if there's less than 15 seconds or so of animation you shouldn't submit it to the portal. Even then it's gotta make its point quick while still offering more than "look at this guy and listen to random music".
