['The Tragedy']

Well...

My sincerest condolences on the death of your friend. I know this must be a hard time for you and I hope you can pull through. However, that being said, this isn't a very impressive flash. If you look at it as though no one is dead and this is just some thing someone created for fun, then you have to admit that it's not long enough and doesn't have enough substance to really be anything.

Some decent graphics coated with a subpar song that last for less than a minute. No plot or anything just someone (who's never shown) driving a few seconds and crashing (into someone else who's never shown). On the other hand, if you're expecting this work to survive the first 200 votes simply because it's tributed to a dead person and you're trying to cash in for an easy score I severely question your morals. There are few things I hate more on Newgrounds than people who try to tribute a flash that took them 15 minutes to make to a victim of a recent tragedy in hopes that sympathy votes will bring up their score.

As I said though, I'm assuming you aren't hoping for sympathy votes, just making a dedication. If that's the case then, as I pointed out, I should vote based on the quality of the flash without being influenced by sympathy. So... I like your art, but make longer flashes with a little more depth.

Its your opinion and you should stick with it. It isnt my choice. I find NG is a truly democratic site where people can vote and voice their own opinions, and im not here to ruin that for anyone. And im definitely not here to "try to tribute a flash that took them 15 minutes to make to a victim of a recent tragedy in hopes that sympathy votes will bring up their score." That is really insulting even to consider that i would try to do something that remotely selfish. For gods sake, its a damn website! People should see that i have better things to tend to in my life rather than getting my average higher.

This took me three days, which still isnt that long i know, but i DID put some effort into this flash. It was mainly for my friends & not for NG. But atleast you took the time to explain why you voted how you did. Alot of people dont do that anymore and are just asses about everything.

Not terrible...

It was kind of short and based around one joke (which was... meh), but not too bad overall. It was kind of funny, not really my cup of tea. It was very prejudice too. Sure jews are destined to rot in hell for not accepting Christ as their savior, but we should not condemn them in this life as well. For the lord says "vengeance is mine" and so it shall be. Oh, and I hate British accents because Brits always act like total dicks when I try to talk to them anyway. Good flash overall though.

I would like to personally say, shit on your beliefs. There are a lot of weird religions out there, but buddhism is quite possibly the dumbest. He was just a guy. I think i'm going to start a religion based around me now. I will lick cat anuses for 40 days and then have an epiphany. Idiots like you will worship whatever words come out of my mouth. This could have been sooooo good.

Your backgrounds and stuff look like some effort was put into them, and your animation (though choppy in places) is nicely done for the most part. What really disappointed me though is the use of stick figures, it's such a shortcut. Especially when he's all black. I saw several areas where there were no distinguishing figures at all, not even eyes, just a black blob. If only you had put more effort into the appearance of your character i could give you awesome marks, but your laziness sets a bad example for ng artists, sorry.

Meh...

The background being all white was terrible. It made things unclear for me. I thought the boy was a student waiting to get out of school but when he just started running all over the place that obviously wasn't the case, he would have gotten into some kind of trouble. All the stuff with the door(?) took too long. Your flash had a lot of good animation, but the motion tweening done with the painfully drawn out door scene probably had more frames than those that were animated. Overall, this works as a schoolwork, but not really entertaining as a NG flash.

Hectic.

I was looking for a word for this flash, I think hectic fits well. I like the art style, and if the animation was a bit slower (so that i could tell wtf is happening) i'd probably have plenty of compliments for that too. The song was kind of low quality. I know it's probably cause you were trying to keep filesize down but with all the shouting the guy does the song buzzes a lot, and kind of induces headaches. The lyrics were only readable about half of the time. This isn't the greatest flash i've ever seen and it lacks any real.. clarity of what's going on, so it wouldn't be a very good movie or preview, but for a site intro it's not too bad. Site intros never seem to hold together very well anyway, lol.

As seems to be the way with NG reviews, I'm going to disagree with a previous reviewer. LordDrucifer seems to go on about stealth in this piece. While I would agree that, despite the pace, the guy in the flash uses stealth for about the first 2/3rds of the flash, I have to say that, no matter what speed, later on he's not nearly as stealthy. Personally, I think of stealth as either not being seen, or not leaving anyone who DOES see you in the condition to pass that information on and eventually get back at you. When he escapes, there are several bullets zinging at him from different directions, leading me to believe he has plenty of eyes on him by then. For the author's sake, I would like to make it clear that his lack of stealth near the end has not affected my vote at all, I just wanted to point that out for drucifer. As far as my opinions on the piece, it's really not too bad. The music i've heard before in a Rodney Mullen video, so that's what i had in my head the whole time this flash was playing, lol, but it worked. The art is pretty good. The animation is kinda lazy, but then again, if you finished this in 4 days or so, i suppose that the style makes up for what it lacks in flair with time saving. I look forward to more flashes by you.

I'm glad it didn't effect your vote, I like missions and stuff that go pear-shaped, so I sorta made it when this guy got shot he sorta ditched the whole thing and said 'bugger this, I'm just gonna get out of here alive!' A human trait if there ever was one! :p Well... thats what I would do! haha

A Good Effort But...

For starters, your choice in characters is a bit... I dunno... Obscure. I don't know what flash the grave keeper comes from (I assume he comes from some NG flash, otherwise he wouldn't really have a place in an NG tournament would he?) but I wish you would have chosen better known NG favorites. Personally, I don't like seeing Xiao Xiao all the time because it seems to me like a lot of artists say "Ooooh, a stick, those are easy to draw. I can claim that my stick is Xiao Xiao and people will go nuts!" I'm not saying that YOU did that, but a lot of people do, so I generally look for other characters in the flash (non-stick based ones) and see how much effort was put into animating them to judge an artists effort with a flash. Your other characters seemed to have a limited range of motion. Xiao Xiao's weren't fbf. At least, half of them I know weren't. When he was partially transparent I could specifically see each joint, meaning that every limb was a movie clip or a graphic, which means that they were being tweened, not drawn frame by frame. Your sense of humor was a bit obnoxious to be honest. I'm talking about all the swearing. A little bit can be really funny, but everytime you use a cuss word it loses a little more effect, and you kinda went overboard. I really don't think Xiao Xiao would swear that much. I should end this review, but like I said, you should try to incorporate more well-known newgrounds originals. Not sprites and demon thingies from who-knows-where.

i wasnt going to respond to this but it was staying on my mind lol. First off, yea i know the choice of characters wasn't the best, i started this a loong time ago and wasnt aware of everyone in NG although i have been trying to include a lot more, not so much for fighting but appearing here and there, such as P-Bot, Leon from legendary frog, eskimo bob etc. I didnt say all xiaos motion wer fbf but a lot of the fighting was, and as for the swearing, i can honestly only remember the bit after he dodges the big laser thing..? although i was not meaning to just claim a stick as xiao, i watched all his movies at least 3 times to see how he moved, but thanks 4 the review and hopefully u will like the next one more

I hadn't smiled all day, but this really cheered me up. I'm utterly baffled as to why the score is 3.66, this is HILARIOUS. I suppose some people just aren't familiar with Max, since plenty of this is inside jokes and such, but I have the game. This is the funniest flash I have seen in a very long time, you have a great sense of humor. I wanted to IM you and tell you that in fact, but I suppose this review will do. Keep it up, I can't wait for more!
